Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), also called attention deficit disorder (ADD), is a disorder that occurs in children. It happens when the part of a child's brain that helps with self-control is not working properly. Children with ADHD become bored quickly, can't sit still, and are always moving. They often act first without thinking.
