Leukemia (lu-KEE-mee-a) is cancer of the blood cells. Chronic myeloid (MY-loid) leukemia (CML) is one of the most common types of leukemia. Myeloid refers to certain white blood cells in the bone marrow. CML usually occurs in adults. Many times there are no symptoms.
