Epilepsy
Understanding this condition
Epilepsy (epi-LEP-sy) is a disorder in the brain. It is sometimes called a seizure (SEE-zhur) disorder. Our brains work by using tiny electric charges. In epilepsy, these charges suddenly get bigger than usual for a very short time. These seizures can cause convulsions, shaking, and may affect sensations or emotions.
