Shingles
Understanding this condition
After you have had the chicken pox, the virus stays in the nerve cells next to your spine. It can stay there for many years. Sometimes it becomes active again and travels down the nerves to your skin, where a rash develops that can be very painful. See your doctor as soon as you think you have shingles.
